You may be relieved as a Tool fan that the wait for the bands new album is almost over, Maynard feels the same way. He said in a recent interview “What a weight lifted off my chest. It took a lot of work. The four of us are a lot of work just to get anywhere. Oh my God — everything’s a committee meeting and always gets shot down.”
He was asked What was the bigget hurdle for the band Maynard replied, “Success! When you get successful, you think you’re right about everything.” He adds “I’m just so excited we finished this record.” due out August 30th
Of Mice and Men’s fall tour will run from September 23rd in Los Angeles through October 19th in Mesa, Arizona. Tickets go on sale Friday.
Spinal Tap bassist Derek Smalls, a.k.a. actor and comedian Harry Shearer, will do a West Coast tour in November. The Lukewarm Water Live! tour kicks off at the The Wiltern in Los Angeles on November 6th and runs through November 14th at The Warfield in San Francisco. Smalls will be accompanied by an all-star band and a symphony orchestra, with guests added via satellite.
Slipknot fans think they have another clue on the identity of the replacement for Chris Fehn — or it could be the band just trolling fans again.
The unidentified member — who fans have label “Tortilla Face” because of his mask — signed a photo of the band over the weekend at a Knotfest event, and under his face he wrote, “N.G.” While some fans have speculated that it’s his real initials, others believe it’s him saying he’s the “New Guy.”
In other Slipknot news, Corey Taylor stopped the band’s show Saturday night so the mosh pit would stop and allow medics in to treat a couple of injured fans. In a video posted on Reddit Taylor said, “No one is getting hurt on my watch, do you hear me? Do you understand me? Back the [hell] up!”
Badflower will start their first headlining tour of America September 28th at Louder Than Life in Louisville. The OK, I’m Sick tour will run through November 2nd in Pittsburgh. Tickets go on sale Friday at 10 a.m. local time. $1 per ticket will go to Sea Shepherd Conservation Society, a marine wildlife conservation group.
Fever 333 announced a fall headlining tour that starts September 16th in Houston and ends October 3rd in Madison, Wisconsin.
